(Honolulu, HI) -- The University of Hawaii athletic department is looking to make some more financial cuts in an effort to remain fiscally solvent. Athletics Director Ben Jay tells the "Star Advertiser" he's taking his budget axe to about four-million dollars worth of requests made by coaches and staff members for the upcoming fiscal year. Jay hasn't said what many of those requests are, but does say they were "wish lists" from some coaches. The goal is to get the sports operating budget to around 30-million dollars, an effort that means a lot of cutting. UH has operated at a deficit for ten of the past 12 years.
