(Kona, Big Island) -- A tour boat captain on the Big Island of Hawaii is under arrest for allegedly being drunk on the job. Spencer Erwin of the Iruka Hawaii tour company was arrested early Thursday after he allegedly left his passengers stranded about 30 yards from shore in front of the Sheraton Kona Resort and Spa on Wednesday night. The passengers were snorkeling at the time. Luckily, there were other tour boats in the area to help the stranded passengers. A captain with Kona Ocean Adventures quickly found Erwin and the missing boat, and said Erwin seemed dazed but wasn't hurt. Iruka Hawaii is suspending its tours in Kona while the incident is investigated.
