(Honolulu, HI) -- The race in the Democratic primary for U.S. Senate is expected to be a close one when voters hit the polls Saturday. A new Hawaii Poll finds Congresswoman Colleen Hanabusa with an eight point lead over U.S. Senator Brian Schatz, 50 to 42 percent with eight percent undecided. Other polls however have shown Schatz with a small advantage and several political observers say the race could ultimately come down to a "margin of error" wide victory for one of the candidates. The Hawaii Poll found those who support Hanabusa cited her legislative experience as the reason, while those backing Schatz said it was a combination of his experience and overall legislating style.
