(Honolulu, HI) -- Lifeguards are keeping a close eye on the water off Kailua Beach after the carcass of a whale was found in the waters Friday morning. The carcass was brought to shore after someone spotted it near Flat Island. The concern for lifeguards is that sharks may have killed the whale and are still in the area, which could be dangerous for swimmers and surfers. Lifeguards are notifying beachgoers about the whale carcass and the potential for sharks in the water.
