SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Authorities say a man and two children are dead following a single-vehicle crash in suburban Phoenix.
Scottsdale police officer David Pubins says a pickup truck carrying the three, along with the children's father, went out of control and rolled at about 4 p.m. Saturday.
He says in a news release the adult male driver and the two girls, ages 11 and 12, were killed in the crash at 141st Street and Rio Verde in Scottsdale. The man and one of the girls were thrown from the truck.
The girls' father, who was a passenger, was injured but was able to extricate himself. He is expected to survive.
There was no word on the cause of the crash, but Pubins says alcohol and bad weather were believed to be factors.
No names were immediately released.
