(Honolulu, HI) -- Five bills that discourage the homeless from staying on Oahu sidewalks are moving forward. The "Honolulu Star-Advertiser" reports the bills advanced out of the City Council Zoning and Planning Committee yesterday after hours of public testimony. Several of the bills would ban sitting and lying on public sidewalks at a various times. The Caldwell Administration says it's hoping to work with the state to establish a temporary site at Sand Island for the homeless.
