(Honolulu, HI) -- Construction is starting on an affordable housing project in Kauai. A groundbreaking ceremony was held this week for Kolopua, a workforce-housing complex in Princeville. Officials say it will add 44 units to the island's inventory. That includes 16 one-bedroom, 16 two-bedroom and 12 three-bedroom rental apartment. Those living in the homes will be restricted to households at or below 60-percent of the Kauai median household income. The construction is expected to be completed by April 2015.
