(Honolulu, HI) -- It's not cheap to raise children in Honolulu. The personal finance site NerdWallet looked at recent U.S. Department of Agriculture numbers and found Honolulu is the second-costliest city in the nation to raise kids. It costs over 429-thousand dollars to raise a child in Honolulu, roughly 75 percent higher than the national average. Hilo came in fifth on the list at over 369-thousand dollars. Manhattan in New York City was first.
