(Honolulu, HI) -- A high surf advisory is in effect for much of Hawaii until 6 a.m. today. The National Weather Service issued the advisory for north, south and west facing shores of Oahu and Molokai; north and south facing shores of Maui; south facing shores of Lanai and Kahoolawe and west facing shores of the Big Island. Forecasters say surf could reach up to 15 feet. The impacts are expected to be moderate with strong breaking waves and rip currents that could make swimming dangerous.
