(Honolulu, HI) -- A group is asking for more donations to help out Hawaii's struggling election campaign fund. The League of Women Voters of Hawaii is asking that taxpayers let the IRS know on their income tax returns that they'd like to donate three dollars to the fund. The group says the election campaign fund has dropped below its three-point-five-million dollar minimum level required by law. The fund helps make it easier for candidates to run for office without having to use their own money. The League of Women Voters hopes the fund can be bumped up enough to help Hawaiians run in the 2016 state House elections.
