Hawaii Congresswoman Proposes Medical Care Legislation For Veterans

(Honolulu, HI) -- A Hawaii congresswoman is proposing legislation that would give veterans immediate access to care. Democrat Tulsi Gabbard is joining Republican Congressman Adam Kinzinger of Illinois in introducing the ACT Now for Veterans bill. It would direct the Department of Veterans Affairs to reimburse non-VA medical providers who provide care to veterans. Gabbard says the legislation will ensure that veterans in Hawaii and across the country who are lost in the VA bureaucracy, and who have been sitting on long waiting lists, are able to get medical care immediately.
