(Honolulu, HI) -- The mayor of Honolulu is taking the incumbent in the upcoming gubernatorial race. Mayor Kirk Caldwell announced Monday he is endorsing Governor Neil Abercrombie for re-election. The pair met and shook hands in the crosswalk of Punchbowl Street. Caldwell says working with Abercrombie for the past 18 months has been good for Honolulu and he'd like to see that partnership continue. Abercrombie is facing state Senator David Ige in the Democratic primary next month.
