(Orlando, FL) -- AAA expects Memorial Day travel to hit its highest level in nearly ten years. More than 36-million Americans are expected to travel 50 miles or more from home during the long holiday weekend. That's an increase of about one-and-a-half percent from the year before. More than 80 percent of travelers are expected to drive to their vacation destination. Triple-A COO Marshall Doney said the winter blues have apparently given Americans the travel bug. Memorial Day travelers are also expected to pay lower gas prices from a year ago, but higher hotel rates.
